I was delighted to be an invited speaker in the Shoulder section and also to participate in “The Great Debate” for the AOA Vic/Tas combined meeting.
It was a wonderful chance to impart some of the knowledge I gained on my Fellowships with the wider Orthopaedic Community, discussing “Tips and Tricks for Performing Reverse Total Shoulder Replacements”. The key is pre-operative planning and upsizing the glenosphere to improve stability!
Then onto flexing a different type of knowledge, in “The Great Debate” where Mr Harvinder Bedi, Mr Ed O’Brien and I from Victoria successfully argued against the Tasmanians that “it is better to be a ‘Thinker’ rather than a ‘Do-er’”. It was nice to continue my tradition of winning prizes at the AOA State Branch Meetings into Consultancy; having won “Best Registrar Paper” for my research presentations 5 times.
